On Oct. 23, 2016, Mary Cathurn “Cathy” (Hawk) Bailey, was surrounded by her family, when she was called home to be with the Lord. Kathy was born on March 13, 1944, in Waverly, Oh, to the late Roy Hawk and Bessie (Rinehart) Hawk. She was united in marriage to Charles (Dave) Bailey on April 23 1967. She is survived by her husband and two daughters, Robin Bailey and fiancé Frank Wright of Waverly, Tabitha and husband Terry Hawkins of Wakefield, four grandchildren Justin Bailey-Hawkins, Laranda and husband Matt Johnson of Waverly, Jerry (Bub) Riley, Jr., and wife Taylor (Elliott) Riley of Jacksonville, NC, Tierra Hawkins, and two great-grandchildren Brantson Johnson, and Jasmine Bakenhaster, and sister Eileen and husband Lowell Smith of Waverly.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and eight brothers and sisters, Sherman, Robert, Floyd, Leroy Jr, Pauline, Bettie, Bonnie Hawk and Martha (Marcy) Fyffe.
Kathy retired from Pike County Health Department, where she met many people and touched many lives. She was very proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her caring heart, loving hands and spunky attitude will never be forgotten.
Graveside services will be held 2:00 p.m. Thursday, October 27, 2016, at the Bailey Chapel Cemetery in Piketon, Ohio, with Wayne Smith, Minister officiating.
