State Senator Bob Peterson (R-Washington Court House) was appointed to several senate committees last week by Senate President Larry Obhof (R-Medina).
According to Peterson’s office, he will serve as vice chairman of the Senate Rules and Reference Committee, which is responsible for assigning bills to other committees for deliberation and determining when they will be scheduled for a vote by the full Senate.
He will also serve as a member of the Senate’s Agriculture and Natural Resources, Energy and Public Utilities, Insurance and Financial Institutions, and Government Oversight and Reform committees, as well as Finance Higher Education Subcommittee.
“It is an honor to be the voice of our district on these committees, and I look forward to the work that is before us,” said Peterson, who was recently chosen to serve his second term as president pro tempore. “I strongly encourage anyone who wants to be involved in the committee process, or has questions or concerns regarding any of the bills we are considering, to contact my office at any time. I look forward to working with you.”
Peterson represents the 17th Ohio Senate District, which includes Pike County. He was reelected to his senate seat in November 2018.
