Submitted by Chris Williamson, Tigers Leader — Pack 100
On Tuesday, March 19, Cub Scout Pack 100 met with the Piketon Fire Department and had a great time.
A total of 25 scouts learned about fire safety, got to blast water out of the hoses, see many of the fire fighters’ tools in action, and take a tour and ask lots of questions to the chief and his staff. Giovanni’s of Piketon provided a large discount for pizza for the gathering.
Pack 100 just completed their pinewood derby races last week. They are now preparing to help clean the cemetery and participate in the Memorial Day parade in Waverly. Many of them also are prepping for summer camp at Chief Logan Reservation in Jackson County.
Along with popcorn sales, the boys and girls of Pack 100 picked up food for the homeless shelter, donated hats and gloves to homeless, provided food services at the First Baptist Thanksgiving feast, attended numerous campouts and hiking events, all while learning many important life skills along the way. The troop would like to thank the Piketon Fire Department for their generosity and professionalism for hosting such a great event!
