Waverly High School Marching Band

The Waverly City Schools Music Department would like to cordially invite you to our annual end-of-the-season marching band concert on Thursday, Nov. 14 at 7 p.m. in the Waverly High School Auditorium!

The Waverly Marching Tigers have been working extremely hard since early August, when they first came together to start learning music and marching fundamentals at pre-band camp and band camp. Since then, they have performed at 10 football games, seven parades, two band festivals, pep rallies, and more. They have spent many hours each and every week preparing for the next performance, memorizing music, learning drills, and perfecting their skills. This year the band has performed six different halftime shows and memorized over 25 pieces of music in total! The band’s drumline has learned numerous extra cadences and “drum breaks” and puts in extra hours each week to do so. The drum breaks this year have all been choreographed by band members.

We would love to share our talents with you on this evening as we present all the music we’ve learned throughout the season. All the halftime songs from this season (including “Bohemian Rhapsody”, “Crocodile Rock”, “Ain’t No Mountain High Enough”, and more!) will be performed, including dance breaks to songs like “Fat Bottomed Girls” demonstrated by band members. You will also hear all of the “Waverly Standards” like the “Fight Song”, “Tiger Rag”, and “Hang On Sloopy!” We promise you won’t be disappointed!

We hope to see you on Thursday, Nov. 14! We will be accepting donations as admission and also having a bake sale. All proceeds will benefit our trip to Walt Disney World in June!
