For every college basketball fan, today is their day! At approximately 6:30 p.m. Sunday everyone will be picking their upsets and filling out their brackets. The First Four games will begin Tuesday in Dayton.
2. National Plant a Flower Day
This holiday is celebrated on March 12 every year. We don’t know about you, but flowers make us an infinitely nicer and happier bunch! We love how they’re just meant to bloom — no questions asked. The flower’s approach to life is worth emulating! Not only do they bring us joy, but there’s a flower for virtually every mood. Whether expressing grief, love, gratitude, or appreciation, flowers say it best when words fail us.
3. March 12 in History
In 1985, the United States and the Soviet Union began arms control talks in Geneva.
In 1984, Lebanese President Gemayel opened the second meeting in five years calling for the end to nine-years of war.
In 1959, the U.S. House of Representatives joined the Senate in approving the statehood of Hawaii.
In 1945, diarist Anne Frank died in a German concentration camp.
